BENQ Ex600 3600 Lumens Projector performance
Well, the EX600 is a business projector. This means that whether you dim it down for a movie or you’re giving a presentation under strong fluorescent lights, you’re going to be able to see clearly. How? The EX600 comes with a full brightness of 3,600 lumens. If you’re looking to save power or bulb life, there’s also an Economic and SmartEco mode.
The bulb on the EX600 will give you 5000 hours of continuous use in Normal mode alone, so you can imagine how many presentations you can fit in that timeframe. That number is doubled to 10,000 if you switch it to Economic mode and 15,000 on SmartEco.
In terms of picture quality, it projects in full HD with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. All in all, I’d say it was excellent in an office setting, with a special mode just for infographics as well. When it comes to sound however, it’s not exactly the best but more than enough punch for a meeting room.
In terms of the design of the projector, I’d say it’s pretty ordinary but trust me it still looks better than most given that its rather compact, measuring in at only 11.65 inches in width, 9.13 inches in depth, and 4.72 inches in height.
On the back of the projector, you have all the usual suspects. Two USB Type-A ports, a Mini USB port, a HDMI port and two aux ports. You’re not going to have trouble plugging this baby in. There’s also bluetooth connectivity so thats nice too.
So because there’s Android OS on the thing, initiating projection goes beyond the conventional VGA or HDMI cables. You can just cast the screen from the chrome browser of a nearby computer straight to the projector.
The BenQ Smart Control app is also a nice addition to what is a very wholesome ecosystem. Just download the app, connect your phone to the same WiFi network as the projector and your phone is essentially a remote.
All in all, the EX600 projector is definitely a must have for any office, especially with the rise of the whole Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) culture that many modern offices are utilising. It’s easy to think that maybe you don’t need such a top notch projector, but trust me, once you’ve experience how seamless that EX600 makes meetings, there’s no going back.
